MESON DEL COCO is an artisanal design studio, a space dedicated to promoting culture, design and the richness of our Mexican traditions. Our studio serves as a textile laboratory in which a global vision of contemporary aesthetics merges with the local work of artisans from different communities in the country.<\/p>\n

Our products are made with love and dedication. Hours of work are required from the creation of our collections to the production of them by hand or on beautiful looms by our artisans.<\/p>\n

Our textiles are firmly rooted in tradition, woven materials incorporate designs passed down from generation to generation that preserve the myths and history of artisan communities and their ancestors<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Vicky has magic in her hands. She sees a beautiful stitch and reproduce It in a charming way. She is the master creating our comfy bed runners and throws. Also she has been experimenting with the jute fibre, and we have been creating toguether amazing pieces, beautiful of works of art for home.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

JESÚS<\/h2>\n\t

Don Jes\u00fas, appeals to his thought. The process of warping I\u00b4ts a remembrance to his memories and longings of childhood, his father and grandfather were his teachers. To him, continuing with this \"job\" means bringing his loved ones back to life. He lives in a little village near Tapalpa, Jalisco with his daugthers and grandson. His grandson would like to inherit all his antique looms, as he adores to watch Don Jes\u00fas working and is learning with him.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

SAMUEL<\/h2>\n\t

Samuel doesn't feel his work as a job. He enjoys his time weaving while sharing his life with family, as his workshop is based in his home. He rides the loom and weaves for a while, he teaches his boys the art of loom and pauses to spend time with his wife and children. A quiet life, surrounded by his loved ones is all he needs to have a calm mind that can be filled with ideas and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

ALEJANDRO<\/h2>\n\t

Alex begins his \u201cwork\u201d in dreams, mathematical numbers that he extracts from his psyche are transported to the warp. In this way, he creates different combinations, which shape unique figures and patterns through the threads of our textiles.<\/p>\n

Alex is the son of Margarito and remembers how his grandfather and his father taught him the art of the loom. His family is originally from Guanajuato a place where the textile loom tradition is very attached.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

MARGARITA<\/h2>\n\t

Margarita doesn't like the loom, she says it is very complicated. That's why she prefers to make beautiful blankets and bed runners with her hands. She is a master in the art of hand stitching. She is always supporting Margarito and they both share their passion for the textiles.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Margarito, su caf\u00e9, su telar de madera y Do\u00f1a Margarita, cada ma\u00f1ana se re\u00fanen en torno al telar. Margarito comienza las pisadas y Margarita va pas\u00e1ndole los hilos; dando instrucciones para ayudarle a recordar como debe quedar el dise\u00f1o del coj\u00edn; mientras le platica algunas an\u00e9cdotas; a la vez que\u00a0 ella\u00a0 realiza algunas puntadas a su tejido en crochet.\u00a0 Margarito tiene casi 70 a\u00f1os,\u00a0 un gran coraz\u00f3n y una mirada tierna y noble.<\/p>\n
